This 2017 starts off strong and brings together a wide variety of architecture events in Barcelona

Along with Paris and Milan, Barcelona is one of the main capital cities of design, and its streets prove it. Just by taking a walk around the city, you can see how easy it is to come across true masterpieces. Buildings, theaters, hotels, sculptures... all of them make Barcelona a benchmark city for design and architecture. Over the next 12 months, in Barcelona, a wide range of possibilities opens up for those who want to enjoy and experience architecture up close through fairs, festivals, conferences, competitions, among others. Below we mention some interesting proposals that we found starting from the following week:

On Monday, February 6th, Foros, the series of architecture lectures open to the public, begins. Renowned national and international architects will be visiting the UIC School of Architecture in Barcelona over the course of 4 months to share their vision about architecture and the industry through their work.

February 6: Inés Weizman, professor of architectural theory and director of the Centre for Documentary Architecture at the Bauhaus, Weimar University.

February 20th: Ippolito Pestrellini, a partner at one of the legendary firms of contemporary architecture, OMA.

March 6: Pol Esteve and Miquel Mariné from the young Catalan firm, GOIG.

March 20: Markus Bader, co-founder of Raumlabor.

April 3: Rafi Segal, Associate Professor at the MIT.

April 24: María Langarita, founder of Langarita-Navarro, a Madrid-based firm that received a special mention at the 2013 Mies van der Rohe Awards.

May 8: Arno Brandlhuber, the provocative German architect, creator of the "Antivilla" project, a weekend home and place of exile for Berlin artists.

All conferences will take place in the Aula Magna of the School of Architecture at UIC Barcelona from 7:30 pm to 9 pm.

Beyond Building Construmat 2017

The hall has evolved and has acquired a new positioning in terms of content as well as forms, with its structure being as follows:

· Marketplace: includes the holding of national and international forums.

· Innovation: featuring areas for innovation, design, and runway.

· Re-Build: dedicated to maintenance machinery, sustainable construction, etc.

This is therefore an important appointment for those passionate about the sector who are looking to innovate and learn about the latest trends.

Barcelona Building Construmat

Rubén Panete, a Galician photographer, exhibits in the city a selection of his best photographs taken during his journey through the countries of Eastern Europe.

The photographer manages to turn buildings that are unattractive at first glance into sculptural pieces. His works convey a strange serenity and even transform the mundane into 'monumental'.

An exhibition worth visiting for all those who love photography and architecture.

The exhibition can be visited for free from Monday to Friday between 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM and 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM at the Gas Natural Fenosa Multipurpose Room until March 10, 2017.

Barcelona thus offers a wide range of activities to immerse oneself in and savor every detail that the architecture has to offer. Therefore, these three options we previously suggested are just a glimpse of everything that can be found in the city.
