Marina Factory, open-concept offices in the heart of L'Hospitalet de Llobregat
That architecture is a living discipline is explained by the evolution that building design has undergone, both inside and out. The interpretation of residential spaces is not the same in modernism as it is in novecentism, rationalism, or the prevailing postmodernism in the last decades of the 20th century. The same happens with office buildings and work centers, which in the 80s and 90s repurposed empty floors in private housing blocks and with the beginning of the new millennium shifted towards large business areas, like 22@ or Plaza Europa, with impersonal buildings where offices can be rented to suit, depending on the size of the company.
Marina Factory has a total of 10,000 sq m2 of open-concept space spread over 6 floors ranging from 1,200 sq m2 to 1,430 sq m2, in addition to a commercial space. The building, for semi-industrial use, also has a loading and unloading area, and a freight elevator. Particularly noteworthy is the large rooftop with panoramic views of nearly 1,000 sq m2. A building designed for a client looking for a different workspace to foster creativity and productivity among their employees.
With this project, at Núñez i Navarro we reaffirm our commitment to 'open-concept' offices as an essential part to enhance people's talent, since the concept of open space is necessarily linked to flexibility in the way of working according to the demands of each type of job. An open space, ultimately, offers no obstacles, removes barriers, and therefore facilitates teamwork, coworking and the increase of trust and communication among workers in general.
