The Interior Rotunda

The event from last weekend has been one of those events that are forever etched in the memory of an organization. A milestone. And it has been, above all, a privilege and a pleasure. Nearly 6,000 people attended the free open house days that we, from Núñez y Navarro, organized in the iconic Andreu tower, "La Rotonda", the last modernist gem of Barcelona, on the occasion of its rehabilitation.

Among them, many people with sentimental ties to the building: people who enjoyed grand celebrations at the hotel, including some brides. They also wanted to return to La Rotonda, as did relatives and friends of some of the patients admitted there during the clinic's era. For them, visiting La Rotonda was a tribute to the memory of their loved ones. And finally, former workers of the Andreu tower, healthcare professionals who celebrated the brightness of the new roundabout in contrast with the darkness of its last stage. We sincerely thank all of them for the warm welcome they have given.

The interest in the building, which thus regains its original appearance from 1906, has been so great that the demand has exceeded the available spaces. For three days, the citizens have been able to stroll through the legendary property before its tenants (offices, shops, and parkings) begin to move in. The first company expected to relocate is the multinational consulting, technology services, and outsourcing firm Accenture, which will occupy the 4,600 square meters of the third, fourth, and fifth floors.

An unforgettable experience, a day to remember

In visiting shifts of up to 45 minutes, participants have toured much of the top five levels of the Andreu tower. Along the way, they have received explanations from a team of specialized guides and have been able to learn more in-depth about the evolution of the building and its various uses. As a final touch, attendees have enjoyed the spectacular views of the city from the terrace, with the iconic pavilion decorated by Lluís Bru Salelles in the foreground.

Among the neighbors who have approached La Rotonda, familiar faces such as chef Jordi Cruz or the illustrator Roser Capdevila, creator of The Triplets. And, among the activities, one particularly unique: the NAO robot, created by Accenture, has answered all kinds of questions about the historic building and its restoration and has delighted the little ones.

At the end of the tour through the facilities, a snack in the adjacent venue on Avenida del Tibidabo and the opportunity to take pictures at the photocall with the cutout of La Rotonda marked an unforgettable experience that we will always remember. Thank you!
