Company Christmas parties: once a year doesn't hurt
As the month of December approaches, the famous Christmas dinners for companies begin. These are the days awaited by many where all members of a company share a table for a while, which are so recommended by coaches and Human Resources managers, as a way of team building.
It is undoubtedly a good time to discover hidden talents in a colleague, to tease the boss without fear of retaliation, or, why not, to rant about that toxic element that creates a bad atmosphere in your department, and who of course has not attended the dinner, because they consider it an act of hypocrisy.
Although there is no specific date for this social event, most company dinners tend to take place on the last Friday before Christmas Eve, so that everyone can enjoy and stay up late without affecting the company's productivity. The downside of having so many group dinners on the same night is that if you don't book a private room in advance, you end up sharing space with other companies that have also been late in making their reservation. And we all know that when this happens, there's a high chance we'll end up near someone whose decibel level when speaking increases with each drink they take.
Aware of those awkward situations, Núñez i Navarro Hotels offers its lounges to companies to make the evening a unique and unforgettable event. We are talking about the Hotel 1898, the U232, The Corner Hotel, the B Hotel, the Hotel Barcelona Universal and the Hotel Jazz, unique places where you can hold a pleasant meeting. And if you are a large company, there is no problem. With spacious, comfortable spaces of various capacities, they can adapt to the needs of the company. As for the gastronomy, it consists of a wide range of fresh and quality products, prepared on the spot in the kitchen. You can choose a snack format with up to nine different varieties, or opt for a classic menu, with appetizers, starters, mains, and dessert. And so we don't forget that we are entering Christmas mode, all options include an assortment of 'neulas', nougats, and 'polvorones'. And all this, accompanied by the best wines and cavas with D.O. Catalunya, to be able to toast and wish each other happy holidays and all the best for the coming year, until the next Christmas dinner renews our good intentions.
At this point, the dinner party splits into two groups: those who believe that a timely retreat is a victory and responsibly head home at a reasonable hour, and those who came to play and are willing to keep the party going until the sun tells them it's day. They usually seek complicity and tempt the former with cries of "Come on, just one drink!". After managing to persuade some of the cautious ones, there's always one who gets carried away, the self-appointed leader of this subgroup will guide his companions through the streets of Barcelona with cries of "there's a place around here that's the best. My brother-in-law recommended it to me". Faced with this situation, it is advisable to revisit the article written on this same blog by journalist Ricard Martín, in which he recommends some of the best bars in Barcelona for a drink".
And from here on, we leave the end of the night to your imagination. Always keeping in mind that on Monday, back at the office, the Christmas dinner will be the talk of the day while preparing coffee, eating in the break room, or even while on the phone between departments. So, just in case, we recommend moderation and not getting too carried away. After the respite of the dinner, harsh reality sets in and everything goes back to the way it was. Or maybe not...
