Getting to know Dr. Enric Cera a little better
The rehabilitation of the Enric Cera Tower is now a reality. The restoration project of this alpine chalet located in the Barcelona district of Sant Gervasi began in 2006 with the acquisition of the house by the Núñez y Navarro group. In 2014, a rehabilitation began that has allowed the recovery of the property and its adaptation for future use as offices. And what is better, all of this without losing an iota of its original nature and majesty. This is attested by the former owners, the grandchildren of Dr. Cera, who last December were able to visit what had been their childhood home. As we collected in this article, the visit was a success and the Ceras were delighted with the outcome of the rehabilitation. That day also served to bring together, once again, four generations of the Cera family and relive with them many of the anecdotes that occurred in the family home.
Since that experience left us wanting more, from Núñez y Navarro we wanted to learn more. About the figure of Dr. Cera, his legacy, and his relevance in early 20th century Barcelona. But also about the history of the house throughout the various generations that have passed through the family villa. Therefore, we contacted Beatriz Torra-Balari Cera, daughter of Maria Luisa Cera and, therefore, granddaughter of Dr. Cera. We asked her to explain what her grandfather was like and to tell us about the house. The result was a very emotional letter, full of memories and experiences through which we were able to get to know a little better the renowned doctor from Barcelona and the house that ended up bearing his name. We liked it so much that we have decided to share it, (with the family's permission) on our blog.
