Mundo Deportivo invited us to photograph them at the Andreu Tower, La Rotonda, the latest modernist gem of Barcelona, which, as you know, we have refurbished. And we accepted. The five girls from the Spanish rhythmic gymnastics team, silver medalists at the Rio Olympic Games last summer, starred in a spectacular photo shoot on the afternoon of October 25th in the iconic Barcelona building. The images of the medalists suspended in the air on the fourth floor of La Rotonda amazed the readers of the Ocio supplement of the popular sports newspaper on Saturday, November 19th.

The question is obvious: why at La Rotonda? We asked the journalist from Mundo Deportivo Esther Muntañola, in charge of the operation. "We wanted it to be a special and very artistic place, and at that time, the works were being finished, and we thought it was the ideal place to take some special photos for our supplement."

The champions Sandra Aguilar, Artemi Gavezou, Elena López, Lourdes Mohedano, and Alejandra Quereda were satisfied with the experience. "Everyone loved the place and the fact that they were the first to inaugurate the building...", explains Muntañola, and insists that we made it easy: "The collaboration with Núñez y Navarro and Orbyce was fantastic. They provided us with all the facilities to be able to do the photo shoot, even though the workers were still working tirelessly to be able to open the building's doors a few days later so that the people of Barcelona could see the renovation. We needed tables, chairs, etc.".

But, beyond what is seen in the photos, what happened? How did what some call a shooting unfold?

“The girls were coming from Madrid and didn't have all day, so five stylists from Josep Pons Formació came to do their makeup and hair, one for each girl. While one was being blow-dried, the others were getting their makeup done and were getting dressed in the outfits that would appear in the photos. The girls ate right there, Japanese food from Shibui that we brought them. The 'headquarters' with the clothes, food, and everything needed for makeup and hairstyling was set up on the top floor, and we took the photos in the office on the fourth floor. It took us about three hours to do the whole photoshoot.”

It was worth it.
