The artist

Who is DXTR?

Behind the pseudonym DXTR is the illustrator Dennis Schuster, a renowned urban artist from Berlin known for his artwork on walls in international cities. The German artist combines his wall applications with advertising campaigns, including notable brands such as Adobe, Levi's, and Pepsi, among others. In his works, he blends typographic elements, urban styles, and various characters. Schuster's mural for the NN Wallery project is the first work he has signed in Barcelona. His artistic intervention will be open to the public at the intersection of València and Rogent streets starting October 18th.

"I tried to create a kind of cool and funky 'Where's Waldo?' mural; a fun and lighthearted tribute to the beautiful city of Barcelona, its people, monuments, and its spirit in general."

The project

Within the framework of the sustainable project of NN Wallery we encountered for the first time an artist of international caliber. This is Dennis Schuster, known as DXTR, one of the urban style artists with the most international projection at the moment, who will be working on his ephemeral urban art piece on the construction wall of the future València – Rogent apartment promotion.

For the NN Wallery project, in addition to capturing his own image and interpretation of Barcelona live, the artist has prepared a game to interact with his audience. DXTR will hide dodecahedron-shaped stars in his work, as a tribute to the star of Gaudí's Sagrada Familia that tops the tower of the Virgin Mary. Thus, the artist aims to invite his visitors and viewers to discover each of the hidden figures in the mural and take pictures with them to participate in a draw that will be conducted through Instagram.

DXTR began painting graffiti in 1999, and six years later he moved to Düsseldorf to expand his artistic knowledge and study design. He has worked with clients such as Amnesty International, Disney, Nike, and Nickelodeon, among many others, and has exhibited in cities like Berlin, Hamburg, Los Angeles, New York, Washington, Detroit, Boston, Vienna, Rome, and Shanghai. Additionally, since 2011 he has been part of the urban illustrators' collective 'The Weird', which he also founded.
